My mind has been racing with everything I need to accomplish while waves of insecurity pulse through my bloodstream. Do I have enough time to prepare fully for this next presentation? I seem to live on the edge of one task after another, like carefully stacked Jenga blocks. One wrong move, and the whole tower could come crashing down.

Yet, with strategic maneuvering, I remain standing, checking off my to-do list one block at a time as intentions become reality.

Phew. That was a close one.

I pause long enough to enjoy a breath of fresh air, return to the present moment, and reassess before the stacking and unstacking begins again.

The Wisdom of Karma Energy

Karma energy is like this. Tied to the wind element and related to action, karma is forward moving. In its wisdom form, benevolence is at the heart of this desire to do and to accomplish.

Air moving freely through space senses what needs to be done and intuitively knows how to go about it with skillful timing and know-how. In its wisdom, it is neither stagnant nor forceful. Instead, it has a refreshing, reassuring quality, like a gentle breeze. There is complete trust in arriving at the destination, making the journey itself joyful and self-sustaining.

When the Wind Becomes Compressed

Compressed air, on the other hand, is like a pressure cooker—explosive energy mounting as air is forced into too small a space.

Without enough room to breathe, every task begins to feel like a burden. Fear of failure solidifies into paranoia, draining our vitality. Decision fatigue, procrastination, and sometimes complete shutdown bring accomplishment to a halt.

Our efforts become exhausting, and we grow protective of both our work and our time. In this closed state, we can feel stuck or stranded, like a flat tire without an air pump. We lose sight of why we began the journey in the first place.

When Momentum Turns into Overwhelm

At other times, our enthusiasm for doing and staying busy can stir wind energy into a cyclone.

Juggling multiple passion projects, we become scattered in a whirlwind of fiery fervor, creating disorganization, overwhelming demands, or even destruction in our wake.

Choosing a Different Path

By recognizing Karma's edge, we are presented with a choice.

Do we continue down a winding road filled with stops, turns, and roundabouts?

Or do we choose a path with a beautiful view, savoring the journey along the way—feeling fulfilled and energized rather than driven by urgency or depletion?

Sometimes, less truly is more.

Enlightened karma energy understands how to create healthy boundaries, establish workable priorities, and move forward in balanced service to others.

With karma in check, we lift from the edge on a gentle current of air and soar with grace.
